Doug Ford’s Greenbelt mess keeps getting worse, Stiles will clean up corruption

TORONTO – According to media reports in the Toronto Star and The Trillium, we now have evidence that a Ford government staffer and the handpicked chief-of-staff to the corrupt former Minister of Housing, were accepting cash in exchange for opening up the Greenbelt:

“The other shoe dropped, and it is just as bad as we thought,” said Marit Stiles, Ontario NDP leader. “Time and time again, Doug Ford has shown us who he is – someone who used his time in government to enable billions of dollars' worth of corruption, oversee backroom deals to enrich insiders, and create a culture of cash-for-access to sell off our province for bags of cash.

“The rot starts at the top, and this scandal goes all the way up to Doug Ford. This is why he called an early election, he wanted to escape his record and outrun the RCMP criminal investigation into his team.

“As Premier, I will clean up corruption and end the culture of backroom deals and cash-for-access. Ontario deserves better than Doug Ford. You deserve a government on your side.”
