From Right to Luxury: Ford's policies destroying health care in Lambton-Kent-Middlesex

STRATHROY - Ontario NDP candidate Kathryn Shailer echoed Marit Stiles and the Ontario NDP caucus as they highlighted the horrendous state of healthcare in rural Ontario under the leadership of Premier Ford.

“Ford’s decision, along with years of Liberal and Conservative budget cuts have put rural Ontario’s healthcare into a crisis,” said Shailer. “In Strathroy, people will lose access to obstetrics care June. This will leave our community without a single hospital where they can give birth. People deserve to have access to good public healthcare wherever they are.”

With 280 emergency room closures and 1200 hospital service shutdowns, rural and northern Ontario are bearing the brunt of Ford's underfunding and neglect.

“Small communities are suffering from Premier’s Ford attacks that have plunged us into this crisis,” said Shailer. “It doesn't have to be this way. The NDP has solutions and we’re ready to give our community a stronger voice in the legislature. It's time for Ford's Conservatives to step up today and fulfill their duty to the people of rural Ontario by investing in our healthcare system.”
